Video – Looping A Sample

This video demonstrates a method for recording a sample (or you can use an existing .wav file) using the free tool Audacity, creating loop points, using cross-fade to remove any clicks when the loop repeats and then creating the .sfz file to go with the sample.

To my surprise, having dabbled a little with sample looping, this method does not place loop points in the .wav file itself, but instead uses Audacity to locate loop points and the nearest zero crossing, locate the offset of the loop points and sfz opcodes to indicate where the loop begins and ends.
